We were delighted to welcome Zach and Will from Q Space into Northampton High School on Thursday 13 June as part of our Pride Month celebrations.
Q Space is a voluntary youth work association that aims to improve the lives of Northampton’s LGBTQ+ community through helping young people with their personal, social, and spiritual development. They aim to bridge the gaps in understanding between the local community and the LGBTQ+ community to make Northampton a safer place. Working to identify the needs and interests of LGBTQ young people, Q Space develop appropriate strategies for action and strive to promote acceptance and understanding.
Pupils from Year 9 upwards were invited to attend a dedicated talk with our guests and engage in a fantastic Q&A session over lunchtime! The group covered a variety of topics, including self-acceptance, gender-friendly terminology and how to support others. A huge thank you to our speakers, attendees and Femsoc members for a wonderful event.
