U13 Netball Team Crowned Midlands IAPS Regional Netball Champions

We came, we played, we conquered!

The U13 Netball team travelled to Uppingham to compete in the regional IAPS netball tournament. We started strongly winning four of our five pool matches, with victories against Swanbourne House, Wellingborough Prep, St Olave’s York and St Johns. We lost by one goal to St Faiths (Cambs) in our final pool match which meant that we qualified as runners up from our pool. We went on to play Beeston Hall in the first of the knock out stages and won 12-9. We then went on to play Bromsgrove School in an end to end thriller, which ended with the scores tied at the end of the allotted time. A ‘golden goal’ scenario followed; NHS kept their composure and marked Bromsgrove tightly to turn the ball over. Lily King kept calm and scored the golden goal to put Northampton through!

We then played a triangular against Winchester House and St Faiths to determine the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions but knew at this stage that we had already qualified for the IAPS NATIONAL FINALS!!! Northampton drew against St Faiths and thus improved on our pool match result against them and went on to beat Winchester House 13-10! This meant we were crowned 2017 Midlands Champions for U13 and therefore secured a better draw for the IAPS finals in Basildon.

Congratulations to all girls, a great team effort!
