Q: What do I need to have at hand when I register online?

A: You’ll need a debit/credit card to pay the Joining Fee, your bank account number and details for setting up the monthly direct debit and a pen and paper to record your membership number.

Q: What is a joining fee?

A: The joining fee is only charged once when joining. This fee includes all administration set up costs, your membership pass and your first session induction. This fee is payable on all membership options.

Q: What is the 30 day notice fee?

A: This fee is payable on joining when selecting one of our monthly membership options. If you choose to cancel your membership, this 30 day notice fee gives you an additional 30 days useage after your final paid month. 

Q: What is the pro rata fee?

A: This fee is payable on joining when selecting one of our monthly membership options. This fee covers the cost of the days from when you start your membership to the first direct debit collection date. 

Q: Does it take long to register?

A: It’s a very quick four step process to register online

Q: Is there a charge for lost membership passes?

A: Yes, there will be a charge of £5 for a replacement card. 

Q This offer seems too good to be true, where’s the catch?

A: There actually is no catch! If you want to cancel, you can do so at any time via the Member Area - you must allow at least 10 working days’ notice before your next Direct Debit due date to guarantee no further payments being made.

Q: How old do I have to be to join NHS Sports Centre?

A: The minimum age requirement is 16 years of age.

Q: What happens when I have joined online?

A: You will be contacted by one of our friendly staff members who will arrange a time for you to come in to issue with your membership card and complete your induction.

Q: What does 'no contract' mean?

A: You are not contractually tied to us for any specified period; you may cancel at any time. Should you wish to cancel you must do this via the Member Area, please give a minimum of 10 working days notice before your next Direct Debit is due to guarantee no further payments being made. You will also need to cancel your Direct Debit instruction with your bank.

Q: Will there be someone to show me how to use the equipment?

A: Yes, you will receive an induction on joining and our friendly staff will be on hand to help you get the most from your visit

Q: Are there changing facilities in the Gym?

A: Yes, we provide showers, lockers and toilets.

Q: When does my Direct Debit get taken from my account?

A: Your Direct Debits will be debited from your account on either 1st or 15th of each month (depending when you join).

Q: Do you offer a peak or off peak membership?

A: No, if you are a member of the Sports Centre you have full use of the facilities anytime when the club is open.

Q: Are lockers provided free?

A: Yes lockers are provided for you at no extra charge. You just need a £1 coin, which will be returned.

Q: Do you supply training towels?

A: No 

Q: Will personal training be available?

A: Yes, this is available. Please see a member of staff for more details.

Q: Is my personal data secure?

A: Yes. We may contact you from time to time by email to advise you of information relating to club activities, changes to opening times and promotions that we think may interest you.

Q: Can I defer my start date/delay my membership?

A: Yes, you simply change start date when first registering. For example, if you're already tied in to a contract at another gym that requires you to give a notice period, you can delay the start of your membership with the NHS Sports Centre - for a seamless transition between your memberships.

Q: Is there a maximum time that I am allowed in the Gym for?

A: No, you can stay all day if you wish (subject to opening hours), but during busy times we would ask that you use all equipment on a fair basis.

Q: Do you offer family memberships?

A: No, because of the great price we only offer individual memberships

Q: Are there catering facilities?

A: Yes, there is a vending machine available to purchase a selection of drinks, supplements & snacks.

Q: Can I put my membership on hold?

A: Yes you may freeze your membership for a fixed 3 month period at a cost of £5 per month. This fee will be taken by Direct Debit instead of your usual membership fee.

Q: If I leave and then rejoin will I be charged a joining fee again?

A: Yes.

Q: Can I change the date of when my Direct Debit will be collected?

A: Unfortunately, we are unable to change the date that your Direct Debits will be debited from your account - it will be collected on either the 1st or 15th of the month depending on when it started.

Q: What are the opening times?

A: The gym opening times are:

Mon & Fri: 17.30pm – 22.00pm
Sat - Sun : 08:00am – 17:00pm

The swimming pool times are:

Monday 21.15pm - 22.00pm        
Tuesday  Closed
Wednesday  21.00pm - 22.00pm
Thursday  21.00pm - 22.00pm
Friday  21.00pm - 22.00pm

Saturday  Closed 
Sunday  8.00am - 17.00pm

A:  £25 per month Public (additional one off payments of £10 Joining Fee, £25 30 day Notice Fee & Pro Rota Fee to be paid on joining)

£20 per month Parent of Current Student/s and Alumnae (additional one off payments of £10 Joining Fee, £20 30 day Notice Fee & Pro Rota Fee to be paid on joining)

£17 per month Junior (Additional one off payments of £10 Joining Fee, £17 30 day Notice Fee & Pro Rota Fee to be paid on joining)

Q: Can I let other people use my PIN number & Smart Card?
 

A:  No. To protect our members' interests and safety, entrances to our gym is monitored by CCTV 24 hours a day. Any members found flouting this rule will have their membership cancelled.

 

Q:  How do I cancel my membership?
 

A:  It couldn't be easier - just cancel your direct debit. And that's it! Don't forget, if you're going away for a while you can freeze your membership for up to 3 months for just £5 a month. 

Q:  Can I get a student discount? 

A:  No, all our members pay the same low price. 

Q:  Does NHS Sports Centre offer classes?
 

A:  Of course! You can choose from any one of our free classes each week including Spin, Circuits, Pilates and Yoga. There may be a small charge for some classes that require specialised instructors.

 

Q:  How do I book a class? 

A:  You can book classes in the members area of our website. 

Q:  Are there showers at the Gym?
 

A:  Yes, our changing rooms have showers in separate cubicles.



Q:  What is the minimum age to join the Gym?

A:  You need to be 16 years old to join the Gym.
