Od Girls and Associates' Annual Lunch  2017

We were delighted to welcome over 100 guests on Saturday 28 Janaury to the Old Girls and Associates’ Lunch. As always, the dining hall was filled with our alumnae chatting and reuniting with friends from their school days as well as former members of staff. This year amongst the guests were 2 tables of leavers who are regulars at the event, the class of 1956 to 1959 and another from the Class of 1960. The leavers from 1965, enjoyed reminiscing on their table of 13 – all of whom will be celebrating a special birthday during this academic year, 70! Other year groups returning included a group of 9 who left in 1984-85 and group from the class of 1990. We were also pleased to welcome back for the first time a group of 8 who left in 1979.

The staff table was popular, as usual and it was great to welcome former Headmistress, Mrs Linda Mayne and the Reverend Yvonne Chapman, a previous Deputy Head as well as many other past and present members of staff.

Dr Helen Stringer, Headmistress welcomed everyone and thanked the committee for all of their hard work in organising the lunch. Guests enjoyed a delicious buffet, with thanks to the catering team, some had a tour of the school and all enjoyed catching up with friends.

Welcoming back the Class of 2016

We were delighted to welcome back our recent leavers, the Class of 2016 to a drinks reception on 11 November before our Awards Evening. It was a wonderful atmosphere as girls were reunited with each other and staff and shared stories of their first weeks of university life.

Dr Stringer, Headmistress said a few words about how delighted she was to see the girls back and hear how well they are getting on. She also unveiled a 'Class of 2016' bench to go in the courtyard which was kindly donated by the girls and their parents to be enjoyed by future genrations at the School.

Netball Match - Staff and Old Girls vs NHS 1st/2nd Teams

On Thursday 7 January we welcomed back some of our old girls who teamed up with the staff to take on the 1st and 2nd Netball teams. As you can imagine it was extremely competitive from the word go and the team talks during intervals were extremely animated! Having said that there was a very energetic and enjoyable atmosphere.

Many thanks to everyone for taking part, we look forward to next year's fixture!
